We flew out of Brussels for our trip to Venice and thought it only fitting that we spend at least one night on the "Grand Place" before returning home. We stayed at the Hotel Aux Arcades off the famous Rue Des Bouchers (Butcher Street). Manneken Pis was interesting but quite small. We dined at La Homarderie on Chateaubriand with salad and a great bottle of French wine (Chateau Arnauld) from Medoc. After being in Venice for four days we really enjoyed having the beef. Driving home on Sunday was an absolute nightmare. There was an internationally sanctioned half-marathon and all the roads except for two out of the city were closed. We were very glad to get home and see the dogs after a week of being gone.
